Stunning Piano Shawl Canton Manton De Manila or Wrap with padded out Forbidden Stitch Embroidered in the most exquisite Silk thread in Vibrant and stunning colours
The shawl has been kept in a private collection, and has been carefully stored in a linen chest since it was created in the 1900s It was worn once, in 1902 for a wedding and then laidaway
The corners are rounded, expertly finished on all edges, with hand knotted Macrame top and long silk fringe. The fabric is from India, the shawl was made in Spain.
Measurements are as follows;
Overall measurements; 60”x60”
The silk fringe and macrame is; 12”
The shawl is in the most gorgeous antique condition, but please remember that the item is well over 120 years old.
There are no loose threads to the embroidery, nor the fringing although there is a pin hole and a faint storage stains please see photographs
These stunning shawls look so beautiful, draped around a lady's shoulders. It's got to be the most perfect original and genuine vintage accessory to wear to any wedding or race day meeting.
