Stunningly beautiful and in original 1930s condition.
Art Deco Black Silk Devore Velvet Wrap, Stole or theatre shawl.
These delicious wraps were intended to be worn in the evening, under candlelight to highlight the iridescence of the silk fabric
The tassels are silk and have been knotted by hand, and the edges have been hand rolled and sewn in black silk thread.

The fabric is in excellent condition, and has been part of my own heirloom collection since New. The shawl was given as a dowry gift but has remained unworn since 1936
I had the intention of using it, but never quite got around to wearing it. It's lain in my linen store since the day it was given, and as I'm thinning my collection, it just has to go.
This is a stunning fabric, the ultimate vintage wrap or stole, and would suit any themed wedding or cocktail event. The design is stylised and very distinctive, no one would ever have another like it. The fabric has been professionally dry cleaned and is ready to wear.
