Fabulous, stylish and genuine unworn vintage silk kimono from about the late 1950s
As with traditional yakata, it’s been made from a very good quality silk fabric
The fabric is iridescent and has a brocade of a dainty floral design
The robe is so very well made, that it may be worn inside out. It has a lining of silk in ivory and blue.
Traditionally they are worn open and do not come with an Obi, that’s the belt, as these are usually purchased separately if required.
These garments are never machine stitched, but are completely hand sewn as this one is. The stitching is exceptionally good and without damage or pulls.
Freshly dry cleaned (January 2021) and is ready to wear.
This garment doesn’t have a size label, so I have given the following measurements taken seam to seam.
Sleeve edge of Sleeve edge; 48”
Sleeve length; 26”
Underarm to underarm; 44”
The above measurements were taken with the left side folded over the right.
The item has been shown in natural light for clarity and is completely untouched digitally.
All proceeds from the sale of this garment will be donated to charity. Please drop me a line, if you have any questions.
