Dowry Linen Bedspread, throw or sham - With lozenge design to the pulled and drawn work, with raised thread work to the centres.

Completely all hand made, from the homespun linen to the ladder borders and perfectly worked drawn thread work.
There are a few loose threads between the panels, please see photos of these areas.
This exquisite bohemian item was given as part of a Brides Dowry in April 1903 It was placed in a linen trunk, where it remained and then transferred, in 1967 after a professional clean, to a temperature controlled linen and fabric store. It has been used, and there is evidence in this as the linen has become Snow White and ‘’slubby’
It has now received a professional hand laundering with a slight glazing and is ready to use.
This item of antique linen is part of my very own heirloom collection, which I’m thinning down, and comes with provenance as to its history. Created by my Spanish Italian relatives from fabulous North Yorkshire fabrics.
