Vintage 1930s Peach Silk Hand Made Nightgown Or Robe.
Size 40” bust.
The gown has hand finished coffee Chantilly lace.
The hem has been hand rolled and stitched in silk thread. All the seams have been hand stitched. The lace is French Chantilly and was hand made.
The shoulder panels are 20cm wide along the top of the shoulder.
Around the neckline the lace is free stitched onto the gown, elsewhere the lace is appliqué. There are two 5 inch ties positioned at the side, under the bustline to draw the garment in.
To the front of the bodice there are five 1 inch chevron styled panels which have appliqué lace decorations.
The skirt of the gown has been cut on the bias.
The following measurements have been taken when the garment was laid flat, relaxed and unstretched - Seam to seam and is being given for comparison against a similar item of ones own.
