Fabulous Vintage 1940s Land Girls or Gamekeepers Fitted Yorkshire Wool Herringbone Tweed Coat and Knickerbockers. The suit is substantial and quite heavy, being durable for heavy work.
Previously part of a country house private collection.
The cuffs and edges of the coat are free of snags and the lining is without wear.
The sleeves are fitted, and the shoulders are exquisitely square having a slight padding.
The bodice is fitted into the waist, then the fabric falls away through the skirt of the coat. Slip pockets, wide neck and lapels with horn buttons complete the look of the coat.
The knickerbockers are fitted to the waist and over the hips, with a French metal fine tooth zip to the back and darts to the front.
