Fabulous 1950s Cocktail Dress created from a Bronze Gold Pink & Blue Black Silk Brocade.

The skirt of the gown is a generously styled circle. The hem is scalloped, with this theme carried through to the neckline.
Under this next to the skin, is a detachable stiffened paper petticoat followed by a rayon satin petticoat and two net petticoats. The backing of the dress is a stiffened net, and the bodice is linen linened. The straps are spaghetti styled. The original finishing and checking tags are still present, and fixed to the internal petticoats.
The bodice is fitted, the waist is dropped, giving a smooth look to the waist and upper hip. Internal supports have been placed for the bosom, these carry the size tags of 34”.
The panelled and scalloped skirt fits smoothly over the hips then falls away in extremely full folds.
This is the most sumptuous cocktail dress I’ve seen this season and it is completely unworn.

This is a beautiful garment, which is perfect for the vintage bride, cocktail hour, and those special themed nights, festivals or retro music nights. The measurements given are actual, from seam to seam and are given as a guide.
