Sorry, this item has sold.

Stunning Antique 1800s Bed Throw or Coverlet made from hand-loomed heavy linen.
Extensive panels adorn the cloth with the centre panel carrying a large Point De Venice Figural lace and open work embroidery, depicting St Joseph with the crown.
There are signs of Milanese and Brabant workings within the lace and also the embroidery, and exquisite areas of stylised Fleur-De-lys, the flower which sprouted from St Joseph’s staff.
This fabulous item was made in the very early part of 1800s, by Italian and southern Spanish ancestors who later settled in Northern France.
Every inch of this item has been done by hand, from the weaving of the cloth to the lace and figural work. The fabric is stunning, and in the most exquisite condition as it’s been well stored within a linen cupboard for the last 150 years and formed part of a private linen and lace collection spanning 350 years. This is a beautiful and rare item, which would add an authentic touch to any antique interior, bohemian boudoir, chic guest house or boutique B and B.
