Fabulous and quite unique Vintage 1950s Paris cocktail dress, made from silk Jersey and lined in rayon silk.
To the bodice, there are four boned supports one either side of the centre zip to the back and 2 to the front to support the bust. The bones are very well padded and secured.
The whole of the bodice is ruched and this is an exceptionally fine condition. The broad shoulder straps are also ruched and can be worn on or off the shoulders.
The outer skirt of the dress has an internal pencil skirt, which is quite tight, whilst the overskirt is quite full.
Very reminiscent of the 1950s film stars, Lollobrigida, Bardot, Mansfield and Marilyn Monroe
This is a recent purchase for myself and is one of three of similar dressers that came from the same collection. I purchased all three as vintage Chanel, and all signs do a point that they may be Chanel, though on receipt of the dresses, I found the tags were missing.
It’s quite possible that it was made by one of the trainees whilst working under the fashion house.
I’m selling them for a fraction of their costs as these really do need to be worn and shown off.
