Victorian ladies blouse in pristine condition.
Created from a beautiful black water silk, and with a deep, tightfitting, stand-up collar which is boned.
This secures to the blouse with press studs.
The three steel bones keep the wearers neck stiff and collar tight against the neck.
The blouse has a black linen inner bodice that is fitted, this bodice
Is made to fit a size 8 whilst they over blouse is quite generous and voluptuous .
The sleeves are very very full. The cuffs are very deep and have silk covered rope detailing, these fasten with three press studs.
The front is very defined on the Parisian style - blouson.
To the centre is a wide panel of French black lace and either side of this there are deep permanent pin tucks.
The waist is fitted, the blouson overhangs this slightly, and below the waistband is a deep peplum of 4 inches which would fit closely over the whereas hips or tucked under the waistband of the skirt.
To the back again, it has three sets of pleating, which has been stitched into place and in the middle is the back fastening which closes with handmade Pearl buttons over which is the button cover/placket. One button is missing.
I would say that this has a guide size of a UK 6-8

This item is from my very own heirloom collection. It originated in northern France in the mid 18th century. It has been really very well looked after and I would say it’s in beautiful wearable condition, although I would advise moderation of movement when wearing the garment due to the age of the fabrics
The garment has been fully dry cleaned and is without any odour - ready to wear
