Antique 1850s Spanish Chantilly black Mantilla. Veil Hand Made using Black Silk
It’s exquisitely long and very intricate with ultra fine work.
This item of lace is a very early piece, nevertheless the fabric of the lace is quite strong and without rot, odour or age damage, it’s in the most pristine condition.
The main design is Spanish but it also has some French influences. The outer panels are of the traditional floral design whilst the centre is uniform in style
It really is exquisite.
This gorgeous item is all hand made, and part of my own heirloom collection, which I am thinning down (My ancestors were European)

Made by my Grandmothers who originally came from Spain, later settling in southern France, it appears to have styles and work taken from both the French, Spanish and with some Italian traditional floral designs too.
