Vintage 1940s style dress
Stunningly made, from an original pattern from 1942. The dress was made in America in the early 70s and is in new old condition.
These measurements were taken whilst the garment was laid flat and relaxed.
Guide size 12/14.
Underarm to underarm 40”

Across the shoulders, which are padded; 16.5”

To the back, there are 8 covered buttons, and exquisite darting to gently follow the wearers curves There is also an 8” inverted kick pleat.
The front of the dress is also stunningly styled, with two pockets to the front which are ruffled and gathered at the hip, above box pleats at hip height which are permanent.
The dress is without any labels, and I have been informed that it was a commission which was never worn. All the seams, buttonholes, and dartings appear to be finished by hand.
