This is a gorgeous item from the Glamorous Night Club Scene of the 1950s and very very wearable today.
Made in London by Sambo Fashion Designs, it was taken almost immediately into a private fashion collection of a celebrity after being worn a few times.
The dress is exquisitely styled.
Made from french Black Chantilly lace which has an overlay to the chevron edged hem.
There are two rayon petticoats both with a layer of silk net to give a defined ‘flip’ to the hem as the lady moves.
The waist is fitted with slight chevron shaping to the front to compliment the wearer ..Divine!
The bodice overlay of lace is fixed at the waist, to give a couture look to the dress. The inner bodice has slight stiffening at the bust and sides.
It really is gorgeous and the cut, styling and workmanship are superb and just about perfect for any retro wedding, dinner dance and it’s suitable for either cocktails with stiletto heels and pearls or for evening with a fur wrap. The garment has been dry cleaned and is ready to wear.
