This is a gorgeous item from the Glamorous 1980s and is very very wearable today.
Made in London by Katerina Designs, it was taken almost immediately into a private fashion collection of a celebrity. It’s now professionally dry cleaned and is ready to wear
The bodice is midnight blue Chantilly lace which has an overlay of blue silk brocade rope and sequins. The bodice has a peplum which falls nicely over the hips. The neckline has been stiffened with silk covered wires, this holds the shoulders securely, and holds the edge of the neckline away from the lower neckline at the back.
The skirt of the gown is exquisitely styled, with light stiffening to the hem which gives the skirt a ‘Flippy’ flowing appearance when worn.
It really is gorgeous and the cut, styling and workmanship are superb and just about perfect for any retro wedding, dinner dance and suitable for either cocktails with stiletto heels and pearls or for evening with a fur wrap.
Although the creation is sized, I have taken measurements, when the garment was laid flat, from seam to seam for you to compare against a similar item of ones own.
