Art Deco Pure Champagne Silk Canton Manton De Manila Piano Shawl.
Extensively and very Heavily Hand Embroidered in the most exquisite Silk thread in a Vibrant and iridescent champagne all executed in the forbidden stitch. The shawl has been kept within my heirloom private collection and carefully stored in a linen chest since just after it was created in the mid 1910s It was last worn in 1924 to a wedding and then stored.
The corners are rounded, expertly finished on all edges, with a hand knotted Macrame top and long silk fringe, which is free of tangles and knots.
Measurements are as follows;
Length; 50 inches
Depth; 52 inches
The depth of the silk fringe and macrame is; 20”
The shawl is in the most stunning antique condition. There are no loose threads to the embroidery, no thinning to the fabric nor the fringing. This creation is very very large although gossamer light. It’s exquisite
The fabric has been fully checked for rot and is clear of age related damage and or thinning, freshly professionally dry cleaned and ready to wear
These stunning shawls look so beautiful, draped around a lady's shoulders. It's got to be the most perfect original and genuine vintage accessory to wear to any wedding themed gathering or dinner party.
