Vintage 1949 Halter neck dress
The bodice is delicately styled and gathered into a nicely cut waist, with chevron detailing, flat front and gathered sides
The skirt is a little more than a full circle to give lots of movement as the lady walks.
There are two underskirts, one under the georgette, which is in rayon silk and is approximately two circles, with the innermost lining being styled on a wiggle or pencil shape with back pleat.
Most of this work has been done by hand.
The bodice is lined in rayon silk.
The dress has been freshly dry cleaned and is ready to wear.
Previously the dress was owned by a designer who worked for
Frank Usher.
This is not a mass-produce dress, but an original design of over 70 years, and part of a private Italian fashion collection
As the dress is couture, there isn’t any size label. Measurements have been taken whilst laid flat.
