Wonderful 1950s Empire Line Cocktail Dress created from sumptuous azure blue raw silk with shimmering gold & blue embroidery to the bodice, which has a scalloped neckline.
At the hem there is an 15” panel of exquisite embroidery, mirroring the bodice.
Very reminiscent of Sophia Loren and Gina Lollobrigida
The inner lining is a silk mix and is fitted, being on a pencil design.
The dress has a double centre back split.
It was purchased in approximately 1958 and was placed into an Italian Private Collection. Its exquisitely designed, with the utmost style to compliment the wearer and has been mostly all hand sewn.
The design of the dress is very sensual of the Grecian style.
The measurements given were taken when the garment was laid flat and relaxed.
