1950s Stratton Compact & Lipstick Engine Turned Gold Tone in Original Case

This is a beautiful little set. It’s part of my own compact collection, which I’m breaking up.
The Powder compact is a gold tone and has been engine, Guilloché, turned, with a true mirror and no powder residue. Includes brand new powder puff. There is also a matching lipstick case with original lipstick, which has been used, this is also gold tone and engine turned.
It was given to me in the late 1970s and comes within its own animal print case and lined in black velvet and champagne silk.
There are some age marks to the silk.
Engine turning, (Guilloché)
also known as jewelling, is a fine geometric pattern turned onto metal as a finish. Aluminium is often the metal chosen to inscribe, but any appropriate surface can be finely machined to produce intricate repetitive patterns that offer reflective interest and fine detail.
