Stunning Antique Pair of Pillow Shams for the Bridal Boudoir Hand made from the most finest Pina silk.
An unused dowry gift.
The size; 47” x 47”
Hand loomed, the Pina silk has been used to create these wonderful and quite rare items, which are in their original as first made, condition. Each closes at the back with 6 original Victorian linen buttons. The last picture shows the fabric with pink velvet underneath to show the weave
Originating from a country estate they have been stored, within a linen cupboard since 1895 completely unused, and laundered every 25 years or so.
The fabric has been given an 'in-house' hand laundering using pure soap flakes, luke warm water in a copper tub, and has received a very light final rinse which contained a natural starch followed by a hand glazing using an authentic Victorian no; 7 flat iron. They are ice white, and ready to dress any Victorian themed boudoir
The fabric has been shown in natural light for clarity and is completely untouched digitally.
