Fabulous 1940s Cocktail Dress created from a iridescent Bronze Raw Silk
Original Frank Usher from 1948
The dress has been all hand finished. The softly reinforced bodice is fitted into the waist, which falls smoothly over the hips and the skirt is full.
Previously part of a private fashion collection belonging to a London fashion designer, it’s in the most gorgeous wearable condition.
Please note; The dress has been let out to make a size 19/12. It really should be taken back in to its original size 6-8 (todays sizing) There are definite signs of the old stitch marks and where the gown has been let down. One area of thinning remains- please see photos
This is a beautiful garment, perfect to team with a little bolero or capelet, or perhaps a stole or wrap. Perfect for the cocktail hour, and those special festivals or retro music nights. The measurements given are actual, from seam to seam and are given as a guide
