Absolutely stunning Victorian 1910 Linen Valance for a fireplace mantle or windows.
Sometimes used to dress a bridal bed (they were stitched to the head of a turndown sheet) or just add softness to a boudoir
Completely all hand woven with hand sewn hems including the seams The fabric is without age related thinning, marks or foxing although there are signs of the weave within the fabric
This Fabulous linen was found in a trunk of heirloom fabrics and is an unused Dowry item dated from about 1910.
The ladder work is pristine as is the drawn work
There is a dainty pleated ruffle to the bottom which has been edged with a hand crocheted lace.
