Huge Pure Silk Canton Manton De Manila Piano Shawl.
Extensively Hand Embroidered in the most exquisite Silk thread.
A beautiful old lady with lots of life!
The shawl has been kept within my own heirloom collection and carefully stored in a linen chest since just after it was created in the mid 1860s
It was last worn in 1903 for a wedding and then stored.
The corners are rounded, expertly finished on all edges, with a hand knotted Macrame top and long silk fringe, which is free of tangles and knots.

The depth of the silk fringe and macrame is; 14 inches
The shawl is in the most stunning antique condition. There are no loose threads to the embroidery, no thinning to the fabric nor the fringing.
Please note the age of the shawl, it’s over 150 years old and has clear signs of its age. The colour isn’t even throughout, but faded in places. Please take a good look at the photos- I’ve many more should you require them.
These stunning shawls look so beautiful, draped around a lady's shoulders. It's got to be the most perfect original and genuine vintage accessory to wear to any wedding themed gathering or dinner party.
